Pep Guardiola’s men are one of two Premier League representatives in the new-look Club World Cup.

City won this tournament in 2023 under the original format, and they will start as one of the clear favourites.

For the club, it is huge as well with a $1billion prize purse up for grabs.

Man City at Club World Cup: What has been said?

Kevin De Bruyne has seemingly played his final game for City, with the Belgian revealing he’s unlikely to play in the Club World Cup.

De Bruyne’s contract expires at the end of June, and he is set for pastures new.

He said: “It doesn’t make any sense.

“But that happens when you push in new tournaments in the middle of a contract situation.

“I have to take care of myself because if I get injured in the Club World Cup, what am I going to do? Nobody’s going to take care of me at that point.

“So there’s a big chance I probably won’t play it. I don’t make the rules, I can’t do anything about it.”
