A Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) electric bus rammed a bike near the Kammanahalli skywalk on the Outer Ring Road on Sunday morning, killing the driver, and leaving his wife and two young children injured.

Mohammed Jamsher, 40, a resident of Kaveri Nagar, Mahadevapura, was on his way to his mother-in-law’s house in D.J. Halli on Sunday. His wife Ayisha, 32, and two children Asiya, 1, and Aliya, 4, were riding pillion. Near the Kammanahalli skywalk, the BMTC electric bus rammed their bike, and as a result of the collision, all the four fell down.

While Mohammed came under the bus and was killed on the spot, his wife and two children escaped with minor injuries. They are being treated at a private hospital and are said to be out of danger.

The Banaswadi Traffic Police arrested the bus driver and seized the bus. The driver has been booked for rash and negligent driving and causing death due to negligence.
