Burger King is stepping into spooky season in a big way, taking aim at McDonald’s hugely popular Boo Buckets by offering Halloween-themed collectibles of its own.

On September 10, food insider account Markie Devo revealed leaked details of a Burger King x Scooby-Doo collaboration, sparking excitement among fans. The fast-food chain later confirmed to TODAY.com that its King Jr. Meals will include a limited run of collectible Scooby-Doo toys, available nationwide while supplies last.

The six toys draw inspiration from Scooby-Doo’s Halloween specials, tapping into nostalgia with the Mystery Inc. gang and one of their most famous villains. Each character comes with a removable Halloween mask, making them both playful and collectible.

Full Lineup Of Burger King x Scooby-Doo Halloween Toys

The spooky collection features:

  • Scooby-Doo with a mummy mask
  • Shaggy with a skull mask
  • Velma with a witch mask
  • Daphne with a cat mask
  • Fred with a Frankenstein mask
  • Elwood Crane (Headless Horseman) with a ghost mask

These toys are available only with the purchase of a King Jr. Meal. Like Burger King’s Naruto collaboration earlier this year, the promotion is limited, so fans will need to move quickly to collect the full set.

Burger King’s Halloween Tradition

This isn’t Burger King’s first spooky season stunt. In 2023, the chain tested out a limited-edition glow-in-the-dark Halloween bucket in select cities. Inspired by its ghost pepper menu, the buckets resembled McDonald’s iconic Boo Buckets, giving Burger King a playful edge in the trick-or-treating market.

In 2024, while McDonald’s brought back its Boo Buckets, Burger King took a different approach by partnering with The Addams Family. The collaboration introduced themed food items such as the purple “Wednesdays Whopper” and Thing’s Rings, leaning into creepy, kooky vibes rather than buckets.

Scooby-Doo vs. Boo Buckets

Now in 2025, Burger King is bringing a direct collectible rival to McDonald’s seasonal tradition. While McDonald’s Boo Buckets remain a fan-favorite Halloween keepsake, Burger King’s decision to introduce a character-driven toy line tied to Scooby-Doo’s Halloween specials could draw families and nostalgic millennials to its counters.

The fast-food chain has yet to reveal how the meals will be packaged, but with Halloween approaching, Burger King is clearly gearing up to make its mark in the seasonal competition.
