Netflix has finally dropped the first glimpse of its buzzy new Pride and Prejudice series, and fans of Jane Austen are already obsessed.

The streamer just revealed a first look at the Bennet sisters and announced the full supporting cast lineup as production kicks off in the U.K. This six-part limited series is already shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most high-profile literary adaptations, and with this ensemble? It’s bound to be a hit.

Starring Emma Corrin as the bold and brilliant Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden as the ever-complicated Mr. Darcy, and Oscar-winner Olivia Colman as the meddling but unforgettable Mrs. Bennet, the cast already had fans buzzing. But now, Netflix has added even more star power to the mix. Rufus Sewell (The Diplomat) will play the weary but witty Mr. Bennet, while Freya Mavor (Industry) steps into the role of the lovely Jane Bennet.

And that’s just the start. Heartstopper’s Rhea Norwood is taking on Lydia Bennet, Louis Partridge (House of Guinness) plays Mr. Wickham, and Jamie Demetriou (Stath Lets Flats) will bring his trademark awkward humor as Mr. Collins. Daryl McCormack (Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery) has been cast as Mr. Bingley, with Siena Kelly (Black Mirror) as Caroline Bingley. Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) rounds out the Austen elite as the formidable Lady Catherine de Bourg.

Adding to the excitement, newcomers Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery will make their debuts as Mary and Kitty Bennet. There’s also a long list of impressive additions, including Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, Rosie Cavaliero, Saffron Coomber, James Dryden, Justin Edwards, James Northcote, Eloise Webb, and Isabella Sermon.

Directed by Heartstopper’s Euros Lyn and penned by bestselling author Dolly Alderton, this adaptation promises a fresh-yet-faithful spin on Austen’s beloved 1813 novel. Alderton, who is also serving as an executive producer, shared her excitement, saying, “Once in a generation, a group of people get to retell this wonderful story and I feel very lucky that I get to be a part of it. Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is the blueprint for romantic comedy – it has been a joy to delve back into its pages to find both familiar and fresh ways of bringing this beloved book to life.”

Emma Corrin, also serving as an executive producer alongside Alderton, Lyn, Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point, brings serious prestige to the project. Lisa Osborne is producing.

With a dynamic cast, an experienced creative team, and a classic story that continues to stand the test of time, Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice is clearly aiming to capture both Austen purists and a new generation of romantics. And honestly? We’re already counting down the days until Lizzy and Darcy make their grand entrance on screen.
