Actress and model Nicola Peltz is now facing a court order after filing a lawsuit over the tragic death of her chihuahua, Nala.

The 30-year-old heiress, famously married to Brooklyn Beckham, was ordered by a New York judge to appear for a deposition before October 30 in connection with her pet’s death. The legal action followed a grooming session that Nicola claims caused her beloved dog’s sudden passing.

Nicola’s lawsuit targets HoundSpa LLC, groomer Jony Ceballos, and the business owner Deborah ‘Deb’ Gittleman. Filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Westchester County, the suit alleges that Nala died due to “intentional and malicious abuse” inflicted by Ceballos during a mobile grooming session on June 15. However, Ceballos has denied any wrongdoing.

Court documents obtained by InTouch reveal the judge’s order for Nicola to appear for a deposition and to authorize the release of medical records, including Nala’s necropsy report. These records reportedly show that Nala had fluid in her lungs, neurological problems, and a rapid heart rate before her death.

Nicola says she witnessed the heartbreaking final moments of her dog after rushing her to an emergency vet. Speaking to People, she said, “I am truly still in so much shock and pain over my baby Nala suddenly passing last month following what should have been a routine grooming session.” She also posted her experience on Instagram to raise awareness and was saddened by the many other pet owners’ stories of similar suffering.

The lawsuit goes beyond blaming the groomer, accusing HoundSpa and Gittleman of “reckless and malicious conduct” for retaining Ceballos despite a history of complaints about his treatment of animals. Nicola also alleges the trauma affected her other dog, Angel, who now “screams and shakes when left alone,” showing signs of lasting emotional distress.

Brooklyn Beckham has publicly supported his wife throughout this ordeal, sharing a touching video on Instagram with the caption: “My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby.” Nicola reshared the post, replying, “I’ve always got you baby,” followed by a burning love heart emoji.

This court order marks the next step in what is shaping up to be a deeply personal and emotional legal battle for Nicola. With the deposition scheduled and medical records set to be released, all eyes are on the case as it moves forward, highlighting the importance of pet safety and accountability in the grooming industry.
