NIIKO X SWAE have teamed up with Honey & Badger to release their latest Tech House single, “Automatic,” a high-energy track designed for the club floor.
The song combines punchy drums, retro synths, and a driving bassline, delivering a sound that is both nostalgic and contemporary.
The two started working together during Miami Music Week 2024, when NIIKO X SWAE initially met Honey & Badger. “A few months later, he came out from Brussels to Los Angeles and reached out to us for a studio session,” the LA duo said. “It was our first actual time hanging out together, and it took a minute naturally to find the right idea in the studio.”
As part of the session, Honey & Badger came in and presented a vocal sample from the early 1990s, bringing that raw, retro rave energy to the track. The producers then constructed the track upon heavy rave stabs and fat-sounding drums, getting nostalgic about the period of the original sample. “That one clicked immediately for us, and the track was basically done in one sitting,” NIIKO X SWAE revealed.
Aside from the tune, the duo emphasized the connection built during the creative process. “The true magic came from the special bond created in this session,” they stated. “‘Automatic’ transports us back to that special moment when lifelong friendships are forged, whether in the studio or on the dancefloor.”
NIIKO X SWAE have already caused ripples in 2025 with two prior singles on Dim Mak: “Drop It Low” and “International Party Girl.” Both singles featured a mix of progressive sounds and retro influences, a formula which is repeated in “Automatic.” The song proves the duo capable of taking 90s inspirations without leaving their sound stagnant and perfectly conditioned for dance floors in 2025.
Listeners can tune into “Automatic” from September 26, 2025, on Dim Mak, continuing the pair’s run of great releases in 2025. Combining old-school rave sensibilities with contemporary production, the single should be a club and Tech House playlist staple around the world.
