Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has said that plans were afoot to appoint another 1,000 surveyors as part of efforts to ensure speedy resolution of land related issues at the village level.
He was speaking at an awareness session on the Bhu Bharati Act organised by the Revenue Department at Rudrangi village in Rajanna Sircilla district on Friday. He along with ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and D. Anasuya (Seethakka) laid the foundation stone for construction of 243 Indiramma houses in Rudrangi.
Elucidating the provisions of the Bhu Bharati Act, the minister said it was enacted after painstaking efforts, studying 20 land laws in force in 18 States, eliciting the opinions of thousands of people all over the State in a scientific manner. The Bhu Bharati land records management portal replaced the flawed Dharani portal of the previous BRS government, he added.
The Congress government evolved a foolproof system by enlisting the services of 6,000 trained licensed surveyors to ensure hassle free land registration and mutation in a transparent and scientific manner, he said, adding that concerted efforts were on to settle the long pending land issues and resolve the land grievances of farmers through the Bhu Bharati.
