Chennai: In a series of orders, the state health department filled top slots in the govt, including the directorate of medical services, director of public health, and deans in several state-run medical colleges.
Dr A Somasundaram, additional director of public health, was promoted to director of public health, as per an order issued by health secretary P Senthilkumar on Friday. Dr D K Chitra, additional director of medical services, was promoted as director of medical and rural health services, while Dr V Sathia was promoted as director of family welfare.
While orders on the director of medical education were still pending, Karur Govt Medical College Dean Dr V Lokanayaki was posted as additional director of medical education.
Govt Medical College, Omandurar, dean Dr A Arvind was posted as dean of Stanley Medical College, and Govt Tiruvannamalai Medical College dean Dr G Hariharan was posted as dean at Omandurar.
Madras Medical College vice-principal Dr M Kavitha was promoted and posted as dean of Govt Kilpauk Medical College. Madras Medical College professor of community medicine Dr Priya Pasupathy was posted as dean of Chengalpet Medical College.
