The French giants had never won the Champions League but they did so in style with a 5-0 thumping of the Italian club.

Back home in Paris, it appears as though some fans kickstarted the celebrations early as they took to the streets.

However, there were unsavoury scenes in the city as police stepped in to control the excited crowds.

Videos on social media show PSG supporters running in front of cars on the motorway during the early stages of the second half.

Traffic understandably had to slow down to prevent any accidents as police entered the chaos.

One piece of footage shows a firework exploding around officers, and another sees some charging at supporters amid smoke and objects.

Second-half strikes from Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu saw Luis Enrique’s men put the Serie A side to the sword, winning by a record margin in the final of a European Cup or Champions League.
