If you bought into the hype of a weight-loss miracle product from Roca Labs, your refund might finally be coming.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) just announced that over 7,000 customers of the brand are set to receive a slice of a $409,000 settlement, and checks could land in their hands within the next 30 days.

Roca Labs, the company behind the so-called “Gastric Bypass Alternative,” is under fire for allegedly misleading customers about the effectiveness of its supplements. According to the FTC, not only did the company make false claims about weight loss results, but it also allegedly threatened to sue people who spoke out about the product online or filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau.

The FTC’s crackdown has now resulted in a payout plan for affected consumers. A total of at least 7,481 payments will be issued, adding up to more than $409,000. If you’re one of those users, you might want to check your mailbox or PayPal account soon.

While the exact mailing date hasn’t been set yet, the FTC said it will update its site once the timeline is finalized. Customers who are eligible for the settlement must submit their FTC forms no later than October 7, 2025, to be included in the distribution.

The amount each person gets isn’t one-size-fits-all, but if the funds were split evenly, each claimant would walk away with around $55. Of course, that figure might shift depending on various factors the FTC hasn’t yet detailed. Either way, it’s money back in the pockets of people who were misled.

If you receive a check, don’t let it sit around, cash it within 90 days. And if you get your money through PayPal, you’ve got 30 days to accept the funds before the offer expires.

This refund news lands alongside another recent settlement win for American consumers. Streaming service FuboTV has agreed to fork out $3.4 million after being accused of sharing users’ private data without consent. That settlement applies to anyone in the U.S. who had or used a FuboTV account before May 29, 2025.

In that case, the lawsuit alleged that FuboTV violated the federal Video Privacy Protection Act by sending user information to third-party companies. While the company denies any wrongdoing, it’s still paying up, and every eligible customer will receive an equal share of the payout.

Roca Labs’ situation, however, stands out not just for the misleading health promises but for how the company allegedly tried to silence customers who spoke out. The FTC called out the brand’s practices as deceptive and intimidating. The agency’s intervention marks a win for consumer protection and sends a loud message that companies can’t just make bold health claims without proof, or threaten people who question them.

For those who were drawn in by the idea of an easy weight-loss fix, this refund might feel like too little, too late. But the FTC’s settlement is at least some accountability, especially after years of reports that Roca Labs had been targeting people who complained with legal threats.

If you believe you were impacted and haven’t filed yet, check the FTC’s website for more information on how to submit your claim before the October deadline. And if you receive a payment, whether by check or digitally, don’t delay in cashing it. After all the drama, a bit of justice (and some cash) is finally on the way.
