A 25-year-old rowdy sheeter was hacked to death and his friend severely injured, when a group of armed men attacked the duo in Bengaluru’s Kadugodi on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Puneeth, a rowdy sheeter from the Kadugodi police station limits. Another person who was with Puneeth, was severely injured and is being treated at a hospital.
According to the police , the incident occurred at around 9.30 p.m. when Puneeth was chatting with his friends on Government College Road in Vijayalakshmi Colony in Kadugodi.
One of the accused, later identified as Srikanth, allegedly attacked Puneeth along with three others, before fleeing the scene. Police suspect that all the accused were friends of the deceased, and an old rivalry could have triggered the attack.
The exact cause of the murder will be known only after the arrest of the accused, a police officer said. The Kadugodi police have registered a case of murder and formed a special team to track down the accused who are on the run.
