Serge Devant is back, and he’s making history. A decade after his emotional club anthem “Fearing Love” with Camille Safiya captivated dancefloors worldwide, the New York-based producer has returned with “Solace” – the powerful sequel and the first release on his new label imprint, This Moment.

More than just a track, “Solace” is a cinematic continuation of a story that began 10 years ago, blending progressive house grooves with an emotional narrative that blurs the lines between music and film.

The connection between Serge Devant and Camille Safiya remains at the heart of this project. Her soulful, haunting vocals once again anchor the track, delivering the same emotional punch that made “Fearing Love” unforgettable. The music video for “Solace” takes things to a level rarely seen in the electronic scene – reuniting the exact same actors from the original video a full decade later, a move that has never been done in the industry before. This bold choice cements Devant’s reputation as a true pioneer in merging sound and storytelling.

The video, shot by Tobias Deml – director of photography for Luc Besson – picks up where “Fearing Love” left off. Starring Eric Michael Cole (“White Squall,” “Gia”) and Christine Donlon (“Entourage,” “Escape Room”), it imagines a world where memories can be erased, and two former lovers unknowingly cross paths. Now living vastly different lives far from the chaos of their clubbing days, they collide in a surreal subway moment where past and present intertwine, leaving the viewer wondering what will happen next.

For Devant, “Solace” is not just about sound – it’s about reviving the lost art of music videos that carry weight and substance. Growing up on MTV and VH1, he was inspired by videos that built entire worlds around the music. That’s why for “Solace,” he brought back not just the actors but the same crew from “Fearing Love,” creating a seamless continuation of the original’s mood and energy. Over the past decade, Deml has become an acclaimed filmmaker, and his elevated vision adds depth to this latest chapter.

Musically, “Solace” is hypnotic yet restrained, with a club-rooted pulse and subtle melancholy. It tells a story of resilience and connection between two people who have drifted apart but still share an unspoken bond. Adding to the release is a late-night, tech-progressive-house remix from Seth Troxler and Nick Morgan, who reimagine the track with a deeper, dancefloor-driven vibe while staying true to its cinematic essence.

Launching This Moment is a statement in itself for Devant – a platform for music that values time, quality, and storytelling over fleeting trends. As a classically trained musician who made his mark in New York’s underground before breaking through with early Ultra Records releases, he’s seen how the industry changes. His creative reset after a serious injury led to “Fearing Love,” a release on Jamie Jones’s Emerald City label that became a global anthem, won Best Music Video at the Hollywood Independent Reel Film Festival, and was even licensed by HBO for the hit series “Industry.”

Now, with “Solace” and This Moment, Serge Devant begins a new era in his career. It’s rare to see such a perfectly executed fusion of music and film in the electronic world, and rarer still to see a decade-spanning story come full circle. For fans, this is more than just another release – it’s an emotional reunion, a creative milestone, and a reminder that some connections, like great art, are impossible to forget.
