Sewage leak disrupts traffic in old Malakpet

The Hyderabad Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory following a sewage leak near Akbar Plaza in Old Malakpet, which led to a traffic gridlock along the Chaderghat to Nalgonda X roads stretch. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has begun emergency repair works at the site.

As per the advisory, traffic flow from Chaderghat towards Dilsukhnagar has been hit, with vehicles moving at a snail’s pace due to reduced road space. Motorists have been urged to avoid this route and take alternate roads until the ongoing repair work is completed.

Traffic police said the situation is being closely monitored and repairs are being treated as a priority. Peak-hour movement is expected to remain slow until the road is fully restored. Commuters have been asked to cooperate with traffic police and plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays.
