The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) has informed that heavy rain and winds have caused extensive damage to power supply lines and transformers in the district. They are being repaired, and connections are being restored on a war footing, said the KSEB deputy chief engineer.
Forty-four sections under the Perumbavoor electrical circle have reported widespread damage. A quick response team has been formed to attend to complaints. The public an submit complaints at the control room. The phone number is 94960-08865.
Extensive damage has been reported from the Angamaly division. Karukutty, Mookkannur, and Parakkadavu sections have seen damage to the power supply system. The 11-kv feeder has sustained damage. Six high-tension posts and 41 low-tension posts were damaged, and supply lines got snapped after trees fell on them at several places.
Kunnukara, Chengamangalam, Kalamassery, and Athani under the Aluva division have reported extensive complaints. Five high-tension posts and 67 low-tension posts were affected.
The Kuruppampady section in the Perumbavoor division has reported widespread damage. A 33-kv substation was damaged. Power restoration work is in progress. There were reports of damage to lines and posts in the Muvattupuzha division as well as the Piravom section.
