Spencer Brown heads back to his progressive house origins with the latest release on his own diviine label, “Lost My Ya Dom.”
The song embodies that euphoric, rhythm-heavy vibe that has characterized his most revered productions, with a nod to the mysticism and energy of Thailand. Featuring a perky groove and depth of emotion, the single speaks to Brown’s skill for producing music that moves both on the dancefloor and in quieter moments.
Complementing its effect, two of Argentina’s most held-in-regard electronic producers, Hernán Cattáneo and Kevin Di Serna, create a strong reinterpretation of the song. The two do a remix of “Lost My Ya Dom” that works from the heart of the original song, adding it some of their trademark atmosphere and melodic tension. What they produce is a cinematic experience that elevates the feeling without abandoning the emotional core of Brown’s vision.
The launch also includes breathtaking visual creativity. Taiwan native, San Francisco resident digital artist Ted Chin, aka TedsLittleDream, created the bespoke cover illustration. Chin has an esteemed resume of collaborations with The GRAMMYs, Apple, Warner Bros, HBO, Meta, and Adobe, where he was just the cover artist for Photoshop. His surrealist aesthetic is an added touch of imagination to the diviine family’s latest achievement.
“Lost My Ya Dom (Hernán Cattáneo and Kevin Di Serna Mix)” is not just a record for Spencer Brown’s expanding discography but also a reflection of the increasing prowess of diviine within the world of progressive. Both the original track and the remix carry on Brown’s classic blend of warmth, melody, and emotional narrative.
