The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has suspended former India cricketer S. Sreesanth from all its cricket activities for three years.
The decision was taken at a special general body meeting held in Kochi on April 30. It follows Sreesanth’s public remarks against the KCA after Sanju Samson was left out of India’s squad for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
Sreesanth is co-owner of Aries Kollam Sailors, a Kerala Cricket League (KCL) franchise.
The KCA decided not to act against Aries Kollam Sailors and Alleppey Ripples after finding their responses to earlier show-cause notices satisfactory. However, both franchises were warned to exercise more caution when appointing team management personnel.
The notices were issued after Sreesanth’s outburst and a social media post by Sai Krishna, Alleppey Ripples’ lead content creator, criticising the KCA.
The KCA also plans to sue Sanju’s father, Samson Viswanath, for what it called “baseless allegations” made against the association in the media.
