Italian DJ and producer Qubiko puts his own special twist on the new release from up-and-coming artist STBAN, in the form of a brand-new remix of ‘Amor de mis Amores’.
The track is out now on FLAMENCA Records and already causing a stir in both the Latin and electronic dance music worlds.
The single takes inspiration from rich musical heritage. ‘Amor de mis Amores’ was originally made famous as an Edith Piaf standard La Foule in 1957, subsequently reinterpreted by Paco in the 1980s, and now brought back to life by STBAN with a modern perspective. Rooted in deep traditions of Argentine Tango and Peruvian Waltz, the song’s DNA is deeply embedded in dance culture and thus a perfect candidate for modern house music.
Qubiko’s remix places the record squarely in 21st-century club land. With releases on Defected, Toolroom, Suara, and Ultra to his name, the Italian artist infuses the track with a chugging bass and staccato syncopated percussion, piling these over the tango-infused rhythms of the original. The outcome is a contemporary, trance-inducing cut that reconciles the spirit of flamenco-inspired melody with sheened electronic textures.
The partnership between STBAN and Qubiko marks an increasing tide of flamenco and Latin house that is vibrating through dancefloors worldwide. FLAMENCA Records has emerged as a leading outlet for the style, with previous releases gaining backing and remixes from artists around the world such as Cuba’s PAUZA and Spain’s Crusy. The pace does not seem set to abate, with James Hurr already scheduled to provide a remix next.
For Qubiko, the collaboration comes as a natural step, marrying his deep house sensibilities to the cultural depth of STBAN’s output. For STBAN, it is another step towards gaining credibility in a scene that prides itself on merging tradition with contemporary production.
‘Amor de mis Amores’ (Qubiko Mix) was released officially on September 5, 2025, and may be streamed on all major digital streaming platforms and download stores. Latin house, flamenco fusion, and melodic electronic groove fans will not want to pass up this remix that blends past inspiration with future dancefloor energy.
With its momentum increasing, STBAN and the FLAMENCA Records clan seem to be at the forefront of a sound that is only gaining increasing momentum globally. If this remix is anything to go by, flamenco-infused house music is going to be one of the definitive subgenres of the coming year.
