Taco Bell is transporting fans to the early 2000s with the rollout of its newest nostalgia-driven menu.
Taco Bell announced August 28 that it will introduce its Decades Y2K Menu, bringing back five fan favorites that characterized the time period.
Beginning September 9, fans across the country can order classic favorites like the Double Decker Taco, the 7-Layer Burrito, and Chili Cheese Burrito. Joining them in their return is the cult favorite Caramel Apple Empanada, in addition to the Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Tacos.
The comeback is part of Taco Bell’s larger Decades Menu campaign, which returned five popular fan favorites last fall that represent a different decade going back to the 1960s. Though the 2000s were originally represented by the Caramel Apple Empanada, the new Y2K Menu adds to the era’s offerings.
“No one did the 2000s like Taco Bell,” Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery said in a press release. “That era gave us some of our most iconic menu items, including the Crunchwrap Supreme, which remains one of our best-sellers two decades later. Fans have never stopped asking for these items, and honestly, we’ve missed them too.”
Reward members will have early access to the Caramel Apple Empanada from September 2 until September 8 prior to the rest of the menu releasing.
