A three-and-a-half-year-old girl who was critically injured in a road accident that killed her parents in Peddapalli will receive full medical support from the Telangana government.
The child, Sahasra, lost her parents — Guntipalli Ramu and Anusha of Basantnagar — in the June 5 accident. She was first admitted to a hospital in Karimnagar and later shifted to Rainbow Children’s Hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment.
Upon learning of the incident through media reports, Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha instructed senior officials to ensure that Sahasra receives the best possible care, entirely at the government’s expense.
Following the Minister’s instructions, Hyderabad District Medical and Health Officer J. Venkat visited Rainbow Hospital to review Sahasra’s condition. Doctors informed him that Sahasra has sustained a severe spinal injury and requires surgery. The DMHO urged the medical team to provide top-quality care and conveyed to the hospital management that all treatment costs would be covered by the government, a release said.
