Leptosia nina, the psyche, also called as the
wandering
Psyche,(ಮನಸ್ಸು
ಮರ್ಕಟ 😄) is
a small butterfly found in Indian subcontinent,
southeast Asia and Australia. The upper forewing
has a black spot on a mainly white background. The
flight is weak and erratic and the body of the
butterfly bobs up and down as it beats its wings.

They fly low over the grass and the butterfly
rarely leaves the ground level.
Psyche is the Greek goddess of the soul and is
often represented as a beautiful woman with
butterfly wings. She was born a mortal woman and
eventually granted immortality, with beauty that
rivalled even Aphrodite, goddess of love.
Psyche means “soul” in Greek and also
“butterflies”. The metamorphosis of a caterpillar
to a butterfly was an enigma signifying the wonder
of Creation. Thus the butterfly and psychology
became inextricably linked throughout time.
