The white-throated bushtit (Aegithalos
niveogularis). We heard the bird in the previous
evening, while it rained hard thereby stopping
further search. The next morning was breezy and
sunny, but the clouds started rolling in and we
were due to depart in a couple of hours. Such was
our route that returning to Hatu peak, even for
an
hour or two on our way back was out of question,
so the window of opportunities was small and
closing fast. Just when we lost hope, the birds
materialised and a dream was fulfilled.
