The political drama between Donald Trump and Elon Musk has officially gone nuclear.

Trump warns Elon Musk he could face deportation from the United States, stoking their feud to new heights after Musk publicly trashed the president’s prized legislation. It all started when Musk slammed Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” calling it a “disgusting abomination” on X, sparking a chain of insults, threats, and memes from both sides. But the real shocker? Trump said he’d “have to take a look” at the idea of deporting the billionaire, despite Musk being a U.S. citizen.

Things didn’t stop there. Trump even threatened to unleash his recently formed Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, saying, “We might have to put DOGE on Elon… DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon.” Yikes. This isn’t the first time DOGE came up between them. Musk recently stepped down as the “secretary of cost-cutting” in the department after criticizing Trump’s bill, which he claims ditches key EV incentives that directly impact Tesla.

Trump fired back hard, calling Musk ungrateful and accusing him of relying on subsidies. He said, without government support, “Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.” Musk, who was once Trump’s top donor and policy insider, didn’t take that lightly. He responded, “CUT IT ALL. Now,” and went on a multi-day spree on X, trashing the bill and threatening to start a new political party, the America Party, if it passes. “We live in a one-party country… the PORKY PIG PARTY!!” he wrote in one fiery post.

The beef spiraled quickly, with Musk publicly challenging the GOP, vowing to campaign against Republicans who support the bill. He even teased pulling government contracts and decommissioning SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft in response to Trump’s threats. At one point, Musk claimed DOGE had become the government’s scapegoat, saying, “Something bad would happen anywhere, and we would get blamed… even if we had nothing to do with it.”

The timeline of this spat is chaotic, with both men trading blows nearly every hour on social media. On July 1, Trump took another swipe, suggesting DOGE investigate Musk’s subsidies. Minutes later, Musk clapped back, insisting he was trying to slash spending, not benefit from it. Despite a reported White House effort to arrange a peace call, sources say Trump is “not interested.”

What began as a political disagreement has become a full-on war between two of America’s most powerful men. And if Trump follows through on his not-so-subtle threats, Elon Musk’s grip on U.S. space, car, and telecom ventures could face serious consequences. For now, Musk seems unbothered, standing firm on X, challenging the president, the bill, and anyone backing it. But with DOGE on his tail and Trump talking deportation, things could get even messier.
