There’s a couple of seven-year-olds in this race along with a few veterans.
Clearance and War Lord appeal for their form over this course but they’ve shown rapid regression in their ratings over the last year or so and though bouncing back is on the cards off a dangerous weight it’s also hard to justify backing them again with much confidence.
Get The Value however, is looking progressive and trainer John O’Shea is enjoying a good couple of weeks with a 40% strike-rate from two winners from five runners.
This horse won here last time out and looked comfortable winning after a 9lb rise, so this 7lb rise in turn, shouldn’t halt his step up in class.
American Land also has that potential after coming back this spring from a wind op but given he only won by a neck last time out and faces a 4lb rise it may be a tougher task.
Therapist
Won twice in succession so goes for the hattrick bid today for trainer Nicky Henderson who has been careful with who he’s sending out this summer, with most of his cohort off on a break ahead of the new jumps season in October.
This horse has won four times from ten hurdle races and is working on a solid rise in the weights where this new mark seems more than workable at quite a nice price in the betting too.
Therapist is only five-years-old and faces seven-year-old Blazeon Five who has only been seen over hurdles twice – losing on both occasions but still with some potential off this mark.
However, with the experience, you’d have to think Therapist will get there with her form also being boosted.
