Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu questioned whether the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which the BRS once vilified as corrupt and oppressive, has now become a paragon of virtue in their eyes?

He pointed out the irony that the same investigative agency they now praise had previously registered a case against BRS MLC K. Kavitha. In a statement released on Saturday, the Minister demanded clarity, asking whether the BRS was now justifying the politically motivated and baseless cases?

After Sonia Gandhi formed Telangana to fulfil the promise made, the BRS, through undemocratic and unconstitutional means, plunged a once-prosperous State into financial turmoil, he alleged. He said the BRS leaders’ endorsement of the ED’s ‘unlawful’ cases against Congress leaders exposes a covert alliance with the BJP.

He questioned the outrage over CM Revanth Reddy visiting New Delhi, asking what’s wrong with a Chief Minister engaging with the Prime Minister and Union Ministers for the State’s development. It is due to such proactive engagement that progress has been made on critical projects like the elevated corridor from Secunderabad to Shamirpet, the Coach Factory in Kazipet, and the NIMZ in Zaheerabad.

The Minister criticised the BRS for attacking the Congress government that was working to stabilise the State’s derailed finances by paying interest on debts accrued during BRS rule. All electoral promises are being fulfilled, he said, rejecting BRS’ charge.

He said a leader cannot be removed just because BRS dislikes him and asserted that Revanth Reddy became the CM not with the approval of BRS leaders but the confidence of the people.
