America’s original fast-food hamburger chain is finally making its way to Texas.
White Castle, the legendary brand famous for its small but mighty sliders, has announced it will be opening its first Texas location in 2026. For decades, fans have wondered when the chain would expand into the Lone Star State, and now it’s official – Texas is about to get its first taste of White Castle’s iconic burgers.
The new restaurant will open in The Colony, north of Dallas, in the summer of 2026. In addition to dishing up its famous sliders, White Castle’s opening will also bring 80 to 100 new positions to the area, providing the local community with jobs and a dash of burger history.
Established in 1921, White Castle is America’s original fast-food hamburger chain. Its menu and style of rapid-fire quick-service dining set the stage for the fast-food movement we are familiar with today. But aside from its heritage, the brand has cultivated a loyal following over time – enthusiasts even have an adopted nickname: Cravers. The new Texas location will attract not only curious newcomers but also devoted followers who might have ventured out of state just to feed their habits.
Centrally located on the menu of White Castle is the Original Slider. Comprised of a 100% beef patty, steam-grilled on a layer of onions, on a tender signature bun, and finished with a pickle, this miniature burger is now more than just a meal – it’s a symbol of American culture. It’s old-fashioned, straightforward, and maddeningly habit-forming – so much so that it spawned Harold and Kumar’s infamous road trip, not to mention hundreds of fan clubs nationwide.
Naturally, White Castle has been adding to its menu much more than its iconic burger. Guests to the Texas restaurant can look forward to crispy chicken sliders, featuring mashed buttermilk-breaded patties, lettuce, tomato, and honeycomb mustard sauce. There is also an all-day breakfast lineup that is well-liked, featuring waffle sliders, hash brown nibblers, and toast sandwiches. Sides such as onion chips and chicken rings will complete the variety of savory offerings, and treats like strawberry cheesecake, gooey buttercake, and fudge-dipped brownies on skewers provide a sweet conclusion.
And since everything is large in Texas, the chain is also offering its Big Craves menu. That means fans will be able to buy packs of sliders from a 10-slider sack on up to the gargantuan Crave Crate, which contains 100 sliders – a true party starter.
For Texas residents, this opening is more than another quick bite. It’s a slice of American culinary history that’s long been coming to their backyard. Whatever it is – a late-night slider run, breakfast on the road, or an enormous takeout order for friends – White Castle’s arrival is going to make a huge splash when doors open in 2026.
