Million Dollar Beach House agent killed in Hamptons hit-and-run – those are the tragic headlines after real estate agent Sara Burack was struck by a car and left to die in Hampton Bays on Thursday.

The 40-year-old agent, who appeared on Netflix’s “Million Dollar Beach House,” was discovered unconscious on the side of the road shortly before 3 p.m. Police rushed to the scene, but by then the driver was long gone, and Burack couldn’t be saved.

The heartbreaking incident happened on a quiet street in Southampton Town, but police still don’t know much about the driver. According to Newsday, Southampton Town Police Detectives and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene, but they haven’t been able to identify the vehicle or talk to any eyewitnesses so far.

Burack appeared in Netflix’s Million Dollar Beach House, a reality show that followed competitive real estate agents as they sold multi-million-dollar luxury properties across the Hamptons. The show was famous for its juicy drama and high-end listings – and Burack was one of its standout agents. Before stepping into the glitzy world of luxury real estate, Burack spent years working in her family’s commercial construction and material sales business. That background gave her the practical know-how to help close big deals.

Before her death, Sara Burack had been working with Nest Seekers International, a top agency specializing in Manhattan and Hamptons properties. According to Geoff Gifkins, Hamptons regional manager for Nest Seekers, Burack had left the agency more than a year ago but was still very much part of their close-knit team. Gifkins told Newsday that “our thoughts and prayers are with family and friends,” encouraging everyone to “please be kind and respectful as this is a tremendous loss to her parents and close friends.”

Paulette Corsair, a close friend and fellow real estate agent, also shared emotional words about Burack. “I want people to remember she was an amazing person who really cared for people,” she told Newsday. “She was a hardworking real estate agent who was there for others. She was loved greatly by her friends and a close family.”

Sara Burack herself spoke often about her passion for real estate and her unique path into the industry. She told Hamptons.com that she was always fascinated by properties. “I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent,” she once explained.

When Million Dollar Beach House aired on Netflix, Burack was especially proud of how it captured the luxurious side of the Hamptons lifestyle. “Viewers will be taken into the world of the Hamptons,” she said. “Not only the beautiful multimillion-dollar beach homes and estates but also summer in the Hamptons – with scenes from broker open houses, polo games, yacht life, and more.”

Her sudden death has shocked the entire Hamptons community. Detectives are still searching for the driver responsible, and police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the hit-and-run to come forward with information. Until then, friends, colleagues, and fans of Million Dollar Beach House will continue to remember Burack as someone who was hardworking, generous, and truly loved by those who knew her.
