Mumbai: Healthcare institution Yashoda Medicity has partnered with technology company Intuitive to establish an advanced robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) training centre at its Indirapuram facility in Ghaziabad.

The centre was inaugurated by Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Road Transport and Highways, in the presence of Sunil Sharma, Minister for IT and Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the institution, the training centre is designed to equip surgeons and care teams with the skills required to perform robotic-assisted procedures across specialties, including urology, gynaecology, and general surgery.

The initiative aims to support wider adoption of robotic-assisted surgery in India by providing access to advanced technology training and developing a skilled, future-ready surgical workforce.

It is indicated that the centre features a dual-bay configuration, allowing for parallel training sessions or collaborative learning modules.

The setup is expected to improve training efficiency and expand capacity while maintaining high standards of surgical education.

Commenting on the development, Dr Upasana Arora, Managing Director, Yashoda Group of Hospitals, said, “This program shows our shared goal to support the ‘Heal in India’ initiative by improving surgical care and making advanced treatment more widely available.
