Keane and Richards were joined on punditry by Jamie Carragher, with Anita Jones hosting the show.

However, during the pre-match build-up, Richards’ seat on the panel was mysteriously left empty.

Carragher was quick to point out his absence after discussing the pressure that comes with a European final.

Pointing to Richards’ chair, the former Liverpool hero said: “Who knows what pressure does to different people, people are affected by it differently.

“Now, the man on my left, it’s a big European final. The pressure has got to him. The sweat was pouring out of him.”

A concerned Keane interrupted: “I hope he’s okay, is he okay?” as Carragher added: “I think he’s okay, is he okay?”

This prompted a crew member off camera to confirm that Richards was okay despite briefly leaving the show.

In response, Carragher revealed more details of his absence to leave Jones in hysterics.

He explained: “I think you can work out for yourself where he probably is right now. What’s he having? Imodium.

“I think that will give a real idea about where he is and what he’s doing right now. Will he make the kick-off?”

Whilst Jones could be seen trying to contain her laughter, Keane let out a wry smile in response to his fellow pundit’s predicament.

Fortunately for Richards, he was able to return to the studio before the match kicked off.

The 36-year-old once again appeared alongside Keane and Carragher as they continued their pre-match analysis.

Both Richards and Carragher are regular pundits on CBS Sports’ coverage of the Champions League.

Thierry Henry and host Kate Abdo complete the broadcaster’s usual studio line-up.

However, Keane joined Richards and Carragher for his former club’s clash with Spurs at the San Mames in Bilbao.
